Home School Online Resources – Learning About Fairtrade Cotton

While we don’t know much about teaching, as specialists in ethically & environmentally sourced printed t-shirts and clothing for organisations & brands, we know plenty about Fairtrade cotton. With it being Fashion Revolution Week, there has never been a better time to think about the people making our clothes.

Millions of children across the UK are now being home schooled, we felt this could be an incredible opportunity for them to learn something about Fairtrade cotton. As an added bonus there are videos, possibly giving you a well-earned rest!

In the current climate, now more than ever, cotton farmers and workers need a social and financial safety net. Which is why we’d love for you and your family to be able to learn a little more about the difference that Fairtrade can make.

The Fairtrade Foundation has two fantastic films to help you learn where your clothes come from: ‘Unravelling the Thread‘ and ‘Look for the Label‘. You can view both below.

After watching the films together, download your Home Learning Challenge (see right-hand side of the page for links) to see eight follow up activities! You can pick and choose which you’d like to do!

There’s everything from upcycling your socks to sock puppets (a great use for those worn out socks!), to drawing cotton plants, ensuring plenty to keep them occupied during this time.
